Writing Delight
with Laura Brady
A six-week generative writing workshop for all levels
Held via Zoom
Thursdays, 5:30 - 7 PM Pacific
Feb 22, 29 • March 7, 14, 28 • April 4
(No meeting on March 21)
Description
How can we cultivate more delight in our writing practices—and how can opening ourselves up to the experience of greater delight in our daily lives unlock new depth and meaning in our work, even when tackling the hard stuff? How can delight in these times be radical—even necessary?
Inspired in part by Ross Gay’s Book of Delights, over six weeks we will come together in warm and nourishing community to write and feel into these questions. Through intention setting and mutual support, we will help each other foster that artistic magic that emerges when we are touching the work of our hearts and minds daily (or at least regularly!) in service of personal and collective healing.
During our meetings, we will discuss short published works, share the successes and challenges of our writing weeks, drop into writing time on thematic prompts, and workshop rough drafts in small groups. In the final weeks of the workshop, everyone will have the option to share one polished piece with the group for more extensive written feedback.

Week 1 / the Writing Practice
Week 2 / the Everyday
Week 3 / Places
Week 4 / Bodies & Relationships
Week 5 / Hard Stuff
Week 6 / Being Seen
